What is ADR?
ADR is alternative dispute resolution - a range of options for resolving disputes without going to court. ADR includes mediation, adjudication, arbitration, conciliation and ombudsman schemes.
 

What is the ADRnow website?
ADRnow is an information website which gives an overview of ADR schemes in the UK, an outline of how they work, and an honest appraisal of their pros and cons. It is independent of ADR providers and government. ADRnow is kept up to date, and was last revised on 11 March 2010.
 

Who runs the ADRnow website?
ADRnow is run by the Advice Services Alliance (ASA). ASA is a registered charity, and is the umbrella body for independent, not-for-profit advice networks in the UK. To find out more, go to About ASA.
 

Why does ASA run this site?
We believe that everyone should be able to make an informed decision about how best to resolve a dispute. Most information about ADR on the internet is made available by ADR providers. That's why we decided to put some independent information on a single website, so advisers and their clients could quickly find out what's available in the UK, how it works, and how to get in touch with the right provider organisation.
