Types of Problem
You may have heard of ADR, and think it's a good idea. Perhaps your solicitor or legal adviser has suggested it. If you're in a dispute, the other side may propose ADR as a way to resolve the problem.
The difficulty for you is that there are lots of different kinds of ADR. Some ADR options are well-established in the UK, and some are not. Some are free, and some are quite expensive. Some work well in certain types of dispute, but are unlikely to be appropriate in others.
